The Holiday Hut

In keeping with the tone of Innerspace, and our continuing quest for knowledge and insight, we have developed a little corner here for the legacies, origins and histories of the more common holidays we celebrate.  What you read may jar your beliefs, and may even make you uncomfortable.  However, this information is shared so that we may grow and learn.  After all, that's what awareness is about.

It's important to remember that the original meaning of the word "pagan" was a person who lived in the country, and the original meaning of "heathen" was a person who lived on the "heath"...the uncultivated lands of Scotland and Ireland, much like the prairies of North America.  As with so many words and phrases, these have been twisted by society, and now are used interchangeably to describe those with beliefs that are different from the dominant religions of the world.

My thanks to Stephen Lange, Graybear, who provided much of the information and resources for our education and enjoyment.  If you'd like to learn more about ancient ways, visit his web site at Plains Images

So....pull up a chair, make yourself comfortable, and join us on another journey.
